According to the Jakarta Post, Indonesian Vice President Jusuf Kalla has recently stated, the people of Indonesia should not be misunderstood by a large influx of Chinese workers to Indonesia. Recruitment of workers in Indonesia is not easy, therefore, the entry of Chinese laborers would not pose a threat to the workers of Indonesia.
Kalla said Indonesia workers higher wages, in any large project Indonesian workers will continue to be recruited. Therefore, people should allow Chinese laborers to enter Indonesia and conduct more projects to create many jobs in Indonesia.
Employment Minister Hanif Dhakiri said the number of Chinese workers in Indonesia have not changed in recent years, which is about 13 thousand people. This figure is very small compared with the number of local workers.
